A civil engineering career is a very good career to pursue. As a civil engineer you’ll be directly responsible for the health and well-being of citizens. Therefore, it’s of utmost importance that you do your job well. And this means that to become a civil engineer you need to prepare correctly.
Becoming a civil engineer isn’t as easy as simply getting a college degree in civil engineering. You actually have to study and prepare very hard. Even once you have your bachelor’s degree, you may consider going on to get your masters. Over one third of all civil engineering graduates go on to get a master’s degree.
Careers in Civil engineering
If you want a good job in civil engineering (and why wouldn’t you) then you need to go to a good college. There are hundreds of great college and universities that offer civil engineering as a major. But we are in Vasavi college of Engineering one amongst the best private colleges in India.
A prospective civil engineer has to work very hard in college too. They need to work especially hard in the classes that are closely related to the field. In addition to working hard in classes, prospective students should also belong to clubs and groups in college.
For example in our college we are having newly formed club Eco-club,and we being aspiring Civil engineers should join this club.Because civil Engineering is the only branch of engineering which is closely related to environment. We have branches such as Environmental engineering, transportation engineering etc.We should keep ourselves aware of whats going on in and around the city related to ecology.
Civil engineering careers are very important. Civil engineers need to do their job well in order to keep the civilized world safe and moving smoothly. A great civil engineer needs to begin preparing to be a civil engineer quite early in life. A prospective engineer needs to do well in high school, go to a great college, do well in college, and belong to students groups. Then once a bachelor’s or a master’s degree is earned, a career as a civil engineer can begin.

About civil engineering and it's scope in INDIA and as well as abroad.....
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works such as bridges, roads, canals, dams and buildings. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after military engineering, and it was defined to distinguish it from military engineering. It is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering, surveying, and construction engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to federal levels, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies.
Scope of civil engineering in India and abroad: Opportunities exist in the public and private sectors in large numbers in all branches of design, construction and maintenance, infrastructure development in both India and abroad. Right now constructions industry is booming as there is growth in infrastructure requirement throughout the country. This is going to stay for next few decades. Scope of civil engineers lies with many developing countries in middle east, Africa, Asia where infrastructure development is picking up and Indian engineers are in great demand.
